Mystery Solved!

On 9/2/2012 Victoria joined our family along with Anne and Margaret, two Black Australorps.  Victoria (she is so not a Vicky) was always introduced as our “mutt chicken” because the previous owner had no clue what breed she was.

Victoria has a beard, 5 toes and lays medium size brown eggs (or, at least, supposedly lays eggs….but, I digress).  She’s our funny girl that comes running across the yard, head lowered and at break neck speed, if she sees the oatmeal container.  She’s docile (once we catch her) and talkative.

We’ve finally identified her as a Salmon Faverolle, thanks to a colleague who was also surfing chicken websites on a Friday evening!  Don’t ask…

I think she's happy to know her ancestry.

I think she’s happy to know her French ancestry.
